Supermoon Rises Over Cleveland
On 03 December 2017 I went to Edgewater Park along the Lake Erie Shoreline in Cleveland to see the Supermoon Rise. A Supermoon is a full or new moon that coincides with the closest distance that the moon is to the earth. The moon has an elliptical orbit so the distance will vary slightly to the earth. Due to the moon being closer it will appear larger in the sky. The Moon will be 14% larger and 30% brighter during the Supermoon than when the Moon is the furthest away from the Earth.
